Our mission is to create brave spaces for fat and/or queer people in Edmonton. With our pay-what-you-can bin sales and social events, Fat Fruity Finds is our way of providing accessible sustainable fashion and building community - all while it feels like the world is coming down around us.

At our bin events, you'll find plus-size clothing of all kinds (available at whatever price you choose!) as well as a welcoming and supportive space for fat folks, queer folks, and fat queer folks!

I started Chubby Fem Thrift in 2020 because as a fat person who was new to thrifting and sustainability, there were very few options for me to find cute clothing that fit.

For six years, we ran an online thrift store, our goal being to fill this need. Some of the draw backs of our online store were that we were having a hard time getting enough clothing into the community, and putting access to clothing behind a paywall.  In June 2025 for our 5th year anniversary, Chubby Fem Thrift hosted our first pop up bin event. Because we believe clothing is a human right, and we wanted to give back to the community that had supported us, we decided to make it pay-what-you-can. It was an incredible success, and we found it so rewarding to get to create community and clothing access in this way.
